Elizabeth School of London (ESL) is an undergraduate programme delivery institution partnered with several UK universities. We are hiring two Programme Leaders: one in London, and one in Leicester or Northampton. Reporting to an Academic Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the undergraduate degree programme(s) we deliver on behalf of one of those partners. You will be based in London, primarily at our flagship campus in Canary Wharf, with one or two days per week at our Holborn campus. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinating academic operational matters concerning the partner university to which you are assigned
  • Monitoring and reporting on the quality of teaching of lectures and tutorials
  • Devising and maintaining the academic calendar for each student intake
  • Coordinating lecturers’ teaching timetables across three different campuses, in liaison with the Academic Coordinator based at each ESL campus Liaising with ESL’s examinations team to coordinate the work of assessors and internal moderators
  • Working with the Academic Partnership team to ensure that communication with the partner university is consistent, coherent, and informative
  • Communicating effectively about academic operational matters with staff at the partner university
  • Managing Academic Administrators
  • Following and supporting the strategic direction set by the Dean and/or the Academic Director
  • Maintaining a thorough knowledge of the partner university’s policies across all areas of programme delivery and ensuring those policies are followed
  • Attending regular meetings with partner university staff on operational matters, as well as Board of Studies meetings and PAB/MAB meetings, as required
  • Cultivating an ethos of academic professionalism and excellence among the members of your team and the Academic department in general

  • Providing academic and pastoral support to students
  • Enhancing student engagement and satisfaction with the programme
  • Addressing student feedback and working towards continuous improvement of the student experience
  • Maintaining scrupulous records of academic operational matters, which may be audited by the partner university from time to time
  • Carrying out such other duties as may occasionally be required
  • Lecturing in the subject areas of Business & Management, Computing, or Health and Social Care (maximum of 6 hours per week)

About You

  • PhD or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a closely related field from a UK-style university
  • Native command of English, or an IELTS certification at 8 or above
  • Lecturing/teaching experience at an HE or FE institution in the UK, in the subject area of Business & Management, Computing, or Health & Social Care
  • Right to work in the UK, or British citizenship
