The Data Insights Analyst role is crucial in the analysis, and interpretation of data that can inform decision-making and improve various aspects of operations at the Elizabeth School of London (ESL). Reporting to the Data Integrity Manager, the Data Insights Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that they provide accurate and timely analysis that aligns with ESL’s and external regulatory requirements such as the Office for Students. The Data Insights Analyst is expected to conduct meaningful comparisons and trend analyses between different data sets to identify any patterns and monitor and compliance with internal and external benchmarking. This will include creating data visualisations and management information reports and modelling projected outcomes. The Data Insights Analyst will also be expected to devise systems for monitoring the impact of interventions to improve the student experience and positive outcomes. The Data Insights Analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders across the institution.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and document data analysis requirements through meetings with departments
  • Analyse large complex data sets from multiple sources
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis using statistical methods
  • Create compelling interactive visualisations and dashboards to present insights that can be clearly communicated to various audiences
  • Provide regular management information reports for a variety of purposes and for scrutiny and different levels in the ESL governance structure
  • Identify and track KPIs and metrics for assessing performance against goals
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses in response to specific inquiries or emerging issues
  • Stay informed about emerging trends in data analytics and technology
  • Identify opportunities to enhance data collection and analysis processes
  • Communicate and collaborate with teams across ESL, eg Academic Team, Quality Managers, Registry, Assessments, Retention

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or any other quantitative field
  • Experience in business intelligence, analytics or related data-oriented role
  • Expertise collecting, mining, and analysing large, complex data sets
  • Experience with visualisation and reporting tools like Tableau, Power BI and Looker
  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis and modelling techniques
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Keen attention to detail with analytical mindset
  • Problem-solving mindset with the desire to address challenges and uncover opportunities for improvement
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines

Desirable Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or another quantitative field Good working knowledge of programming techniques and languages like Python, Scala, Java script etc
  • Good working knowledge of Cloud data warehousing platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift or BigQuery
  • Good Understanding of the HE Regulatory Framework
